Being a Christian means everything. Everything you are, everything you have. That’s why the most miserable people in the world are Christians who aren’t willing to take it all the way

To them, church is uncomfortable, because it keeps confronting them with their sins. Sin is uncomfortable, because the Spirit has taken all the guiltless fun out of it. Relationships are uncomfortable, because being a Christian in one place and a heathen in another makes life hard to keep up with. The call of God stirs their heart, but the call of the world purrs even louder. So with feet in two worlds, they know only the worst of each – the empty promises of sin and the nagging pain of an awakened conscience.

The road to the good life is narrow, and pretty steep in a lot of places. But the view is breathtaking – the experiences, unforgettable. And those who choose to walk it find everthing their heart desires.
You’ll know you’re growing as a Christian when the dry times come. Of course, you’ll think you’re doing just the opposite. You’ll feel like a giant failure.

But whether you’ve been blown into the desert by the scorching winds of sin or you’ve just found that the next oasis of spiritual victory is taking longer than you expected, now’s your chance to build some muscle.
Will you keep your old habits from calling you out, from gunning you down with one blast of temptation? Or will you realize that in Christ you can play dead to sin no matter how bold its threats are?
Will you only move your feet when the fiery sands of spiritual thrills are making you feel like dancing? Or will you walk the faithful path beaten hard by earlier travelers, even when the road takes an uneventful stretch? Keep getting back up from your fall. Keep pouring your heart out for people who need what you’ve found. You’ll look up one day and be amazed at what God’s growing in you. (Taken from the One Minute Bible)
