I don't hate all kids... but there's this one!
so there is this kid who seems to have a huge chip on his shoulder and he ends up disrespecting me in the way he told me no after i asked him to help another student do something. We go through the rest of the night and get to bible study (where we give them jones soda that happen to be in glass bottles).
So this guy ends up intentionally hitting another kids leg with his bottle, and the bottle breaks all over the other kid, glass flys everywhere and i feel all eyes turn to me. You know no idea how much i wanted to scream at this kid - but here's the God moment.
I ended up not yelling at him, but made him clean everyhting up, then we moved his group away form the broken glass. Later that night several kids came up to me and were like "how did you do that?" i didn't realize what they were talking about. They explained saying they would have blown up. I got a chance to share that it was the grace of God through me that kept me from yelling at him.

well... flic and i were talking earlier, and we decided that people need to value the ppl they talk to on IM. Current Musings: This is really pretty random....
Wow.. So yeah, its been a while. I've moved back to my hometown in OH. It still as small as i remember it, and its just as boring (if not more so). Since returning from LU, I have been working as a high school youth pastor with another guy. Its been cool, but so far we really have only done a lot of planning (while the school year programming was winding down). The first of our events is tomorrow night... pray that the weather is good for it and that everyone who is supposed to be there comes.
Actually, you can be praying for the youth group as much as you can, but especially on monday nights since that is when our events will be held. Its really interesting. Thomas (the other guy working with me) and I have pretty much free reign over what happens this summer, with only a few non-negotiables laid out before us. We need to set up 3 main environments: Foyer (low key, for fringe kids to come and be comfortable at); Living room (more of an overt emphasis on spiritual things, learning practical application of biblical principles); and the Kitchen (where serving takes place, along with discipleship. The other non-negotiable is that all the programs have to be excellent and exceed expectations (basically be good enough to leave the students wanting more).
For those of you who dont' know, a week ago the youth band went to a catholic school to do a concert for them. I was asked to speak there in between sets. It went amazingly good. I think God really used us that day. We were even asked to come back in the fall. We even got paid $550 to do it.. and that definately helps out our budget for work camp in July! Are you happy now Cooky?
I guess thats about all. I definately miss all my friends. It's so boring around here because you guys are all "hey, i'm going to go to other places, where Sup isn't." Yes... I blame you! ;) :p
