so... switchfoot is amazing in concert. you'd listen to their cd and assume most of the songs are layered in the recording studio so heavy that they could never pull them off live. You'd be wrong. They stay very true to their cd sound.. .only about 50 times better live. go see them if you get the chance. I had to sit through 2 sucky bands "the honorary title" and "the format." This just goes to show you that any band that starts with "The" sucks. (for example... "The Odie Band")

in an article ("I am a Christian, and I Suck") i was reading from the online magazine, RELEVANT, an author quoted Dave Burchett (author of When Bad Christians Happen to Good People) as sharing this self-realization: "I am a hypocrite. I can be arrogant and selfish. I have been known to stretch, conceal, or slightly massage the truth. I am sometimes inconsiderate and insecure. I struggle with lust and impure thoughs. My ego often rages out of control, and i battle foolish pride. I can be lazy and foolhardy with my time. I get angry, petty, and ill-tempered. I am sarcastic and cynical. I am a Christian."
I know that quote fits me to a "T." How would the world change if you all joined me in admitting that that quote fits you just as well? I'm sorry to anyone i have hurt because of the faults listed above, and hope you forgive me. It was not intentional.

in the critical arenas of life, you cannot make up for lost time
As students, we could pull an all-nighter to make up for the studying we should have been doing all week. On vacation you can drive a little faster to make up for that last pitstop. But in the world of relationships, there are no all-nighters. you can't cram for a better relationship wiht your kids or with your friends if you aren't married. Speeding up doesn't make up for lost time with your heavenly Father. The important areas of life require small deposits
all along the way. and if you miss those opportunities, they are lost forever.
Relationships are built on small, consistent deposits of time. You can't cram for what's most important. If you want to connect with people, you've got to be available consistently, not randomly. A vacation or weekend getaway is a good way to commemorate or celebrate the past or even changes on the horizon. But neither can compensate for consistent neglect. So, once again, what is the wise thing for you to do.?

Life is seasonal. Today's sorrow will b replaced by tomorrow's joy. Today's anger will probably be tempered with tomorrow's perspective. Today's worry will be replaced by tomorrow's concerns. As Jesus taught, each day has its own worries. If we are not careful, we ill allow the pressure, fears, and circumstances of today drive us to make decisions we will regret tomorrow.
That being the case, you owe it to yourself, and to the people you love, to take your current emotions and state of mind into account when making decisions.
