I don't think we can say we are 'good' christians, 'average' christians, or 'poor' christians, Either you're committed or you're not, either Christ IS your life, or He's your fire insurance policy...
where are you at?

hmm... how about a poll.
I recently got off the phone with my mom, who said she had a dream that I came home with a tatoo. Is this a sign from THE LORD as mullet girl would put it?
Give me some suggestions of what tat you think I should get and where. I'm not planning on doing it, but it would be fun to find out what you think.

I know, i usually post my devo thoughts in the other blog, but this one was a good one. Don't live by your feelings, or your works. Live by faith alone!
April 20
By Faith , Not Feeling
“The just shall live by faith.”—Romans 1:17
I SHALL not die. I can, I do, believe in the Lord my God, and this faith will keep me alive. I would be numbered among those who in their lives are just; but even if I were perfect, I would not try to live by my righteousness; I would cling to the work of the Lord Jesus, and still live by faith in Him and by nothing else. If I were able to give my body to be burned for my Lord Jesus, yet I would not trust in my own courage and constancy, but still would live by faith.
“Were I a martyr at the stake
I’d plead my Savior’s name;
Intreat a pardon for His sake,
And urge no other claim.”
To live by faith is a far surer and happier thing than to live by feelings or by works. The branch, by living in the vine, lives a better life than it would live by itself, even if it were possible for it to live at all apart from the stem. To live by clinging to Jesus, by deriving all from Him, is a sweet and sacred thing. If even the most just must live in this fashion, how much more must I who am a poor sinner! Lord, I believe. I must trust Thee wholly. What else can I do? Trusting Thee is my life. I feel it to be so. I will abide by this even to the end.

"The next time your life is changed, look back at what you used to be, and try to help out people who are still there. I don't think there is a higher calling in this world. "

tonight was prayer and praise. Numbers are dwindling so either people hate the way i lead it and no one will tell me about it, or its a stressful time of the semester. PP went alright to night considering we did about 4-5 new/different songs. I'm just glad i have a gifted team to work with - if any of you read this - thanks. I mean that. Later

I believe in God the Father Almighty; Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven; and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic Church; the communion of the Saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting, Amen.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." - Matt 7:13-14
From The Many Faces of Deception
"When Jesus spoke of the narrow way that leads to life, he was not talking about narrow-mindedness. Rather, the "narrow way" is the midline between two extremes, the built-in balance of biblical doctrine. Look at the Scriptures: Faith is balanced by works, God's love by his Wrath, God's mercy with his Justice, man's responsiblity with God's soveriegnty, the role of royal sons by that of obedient servants, death to self by life in the Spirit. But in the fog that has enveloped the renewal and the Church at large, it is not always easy to find the narrow way. Not easy - but so necessary" - Florence Bulle
This is some good food for thought. I love getting new perspectives on scripture - tell me what you think about this passage and why you think so.

It was a coldish rainy (thunderstorming really) sunday afternoon and I was on the phone with my mom. Suddenly one of my friends bursts into my room and shouts - there's a tornado in rusk county, we are chasing it hurry up if you want to come. Needless to say I said a quick good bye to mom (and told her I love her) and ran down the stairs to catch up with the guys. It was a great way to spend sunday afternoon. All I was going to do was write a OT background paper for hummel. Anyway, we never caught up to it but we missed it by minutes three different times. Dang it. We did see the top of a tree tossed about 30 feet or so, a de-roofed mobile home, probably a dozen trees (not branches) down along one of the road, 2 roads completely blocked by about 20 feet of trees that had fallen down, a fire man who threatened to arrest us for driving on the back roads, and finally on our way out we got stuck in a flash flood. That was a cool day.
Hope you enjoyed yours!

So, I need suggestions. Suggestions of hymns for me to learn to play (and sing, since I'm hymn illiterate). Please, give me some. Do not say "Come thou fount" either. Everyone and their mom plays that at LU
